This would be the first commercial work I have done.. So I’m a little nervous. Comparing an interview with a date strikes a cord with me. My guess is that you ought to have several with different people in order to get comfortable. It reminds me of my days interviewing for an MFA program, teaching gig, or a gallery. They either like your work or not.. But you learn from experience and move on. You learn to trust your intuition and snot be afraid to strike out into new territory.
